Wichita Falls Independent School District proudly boasts four schools offering the esteemed International Baccalaureate Program. The IB Program consists of 3 branches spanning the various grade levels. The branches are the Primary Years Program, Middle Years Program and the Diploma Program.
Hirschi IB Magnet High School offers the Middle Years Program for students in grades 9-10 and the Diploma Program for those in grades 11-12. Kirby Junior High School offers the Middle Years Program for all 6-8th graders. Lamar Elementary School and Washington Jackson Elementary School both offer the Primary Years Program. Lamar serves students in grades PreK-5 and Washington Jackson serves students in grades PreK-6.
The PYP focuses on the total growth of the developing child, touching hearts as well as minds and encompassing social, physical, emotional and cultural needs in addition to academic development.
The MYP provides a framework of academic challenge and life skills. It offers an educational approach that embraces yet transcends traditional school subjects.
Finally, the prestigious Diploma Program prepares our students for college. Diploma Program graduates can earn 24 or more hours of college credit. This challenging program is widely recognized by many leading universities.
