Illinois Cancer and Blood Disorder Care

Who We Are

Illinois CancerCare (formerly Oncology Hematology Associates of Central Illinois) provides comprehensive cancer and blood disorder care to our patients. Our focus is providing state-of-the-art cancer care to the residents of Illinois who are fighting this disease, while staying on the leading edge of breakthrough cancer research trials and medicines. We are one of the largest private cancer practices in the nation, and we're proud to say we have helped countless individuals overcome this disease to live healthy, inspiring lives.

Illinois CancerCare was founded in 1977 by Dr. Stephen Cullinan in Peoria, Ill. Since then, we have grown to include 14 physicians, with clinic locations in 13 communities and more than 200 employees. Our cancer care team also includes seven mid-level providers and 39 registered nurses, of whom 25 are OCN-certified (Oncology Certified Nurse).

A Commitment to Research

From the beginning, our dedication to our patients has been evident in our commitment to furthering cancer care through clinical research. More than 6,000 cancer patients have participated in research studies through the Illinois Oncology Research Association a division of Illinois CancerCare. Currently, there are more than 130 such studies being conducted.

The benefits of clinical cancer research to cancer patients in their hometown allows them to focus on their care, rather than the concerns of long travels during this uneasy time. Clinical Cancer Research offers Advanced Treatments Today and Hope for Tommorrow.

Always Close By

Illinois CancerCare was among the first practices in the country to reach out to patients in outlying communities, offering world-class, comprehensive care where people live.

Our main center in Peoria is truly a comprehensive cancer center, offering radiation oncology, the latest PET CT scanner available, a lab, x-ray, retail pharmacy exclusively for our patients, as well as such ancillary services as massage, nutritional counseling, psychosocial counseling, yoga and more, meeting the needs of the whole patient.

The result: a network of the most qualified and committed professionals focused on providing the finest patient care possible, helping win the fight against cancer and blood disease.
