| More about Neuro Radiosurgery. |
For surgical treatment of brain tumors or to perform a biopsy of brain tissue, surgeons may use an image-guidance system to pinpoint the location of the tumor and identify nearby vital areas of the brain. This medical specialty uses radiation to treat tumors and abnormalities of the brain and spine. Radiation oncologists treat patients by using precise dosages of radiation delivered to the exact location of the tumor, while avoiding nearby healthy tissue. The treatment can be delivered in many doses administered over the course of several weeks using radiation therapy or in higher doses with less frequency. INI offers several types of radiosurgery, including Gamma Knife, Cyber Knife® and Varian Trilogy™.
