| Lori Shah, MD - IBACC Nutritional Specialist |
Lori Shah, MD is originally from Waterloo, Iowa. She earned a BS in biochemistry (graduating with Highest Honors and Phi Beta Kappa) from Iowa State University before completing her medical degree at Johns Hopkins University. She received training in pathology at the Cleveland Clinic, then spent eleven years away from medicine in order to be at home with her three sons.
Dr. Shah returned to medical training in Family Medicine at the Cedar Rapids Medical Education Foundation, then joined Iowa Blood and Cancer Care in 2003. Because of her interest in nutrition, diet and physical activity, and the growing body of evidence supporting their importance in cancer care, she began devoting her time to counseling patients in these areas in 2007. Dr. Shah and her husband, Sanjay (an ophthalmologist in Cedar Rapids), graduated in the same class at Johns Hopkins.
