Home to more than 4,500 students from northwest Georgia and east Tennessee, Dalton State College is situated on a 141-acre campus which is noted for its beautiful setting and well-maintained grounds.
The College offers bachelor's degree programs in business, social work, and education in addition to more than 90 associate and technical degree programs. A wide range of non-credit courses and other continuing education activities are offered through The James E. Brown Center to meet the needs of the residents of the region.
Dalton State is comprised of a mix of traditional and non-traditional students, with an average age of 26. Students may participate in any of the school's 30 plus student organizations, and many join intramural sports teams and compete in basketball, football, and volleyball games on campus.
Students benefit from the expertise of an experienced faculty, more than half of whom hold the doctorate degree in their field. The faculty to student ratio is 1:21, allowing for small class sizes and personalized attention.
Tuition rates are among the most affordable in the University System, and more than two-thirds of the students qualify for th HOPE scholarship or HOPE Grant. Additional finance assistance is available though federal grants for those who qualify.
